Cinnamon Demerara Syrup

A warmly spiced syrup of toasted cinnamon sticks and demerara sugar, ideal for fall and winter cocktails.

Instructions

Add crushed cinnamon sticks to a pan and dry roast over medium heat until fragrant (4 minutes).

Add water and bring to a boil.

Turn off the heat and steep for 30 minutes.

Strain out the cinnamon sticks, bring the heat to medium-high, and stir in demerara sugar. Once the sugar is dissolved, take it off the heat.

Once cooled, strain and add to a storage container.

Will keep for 1 month in the refrigerator.
